Meet Edward
Edward A. Mejia
Serving with heart, showing up with hope.
Edward A. Mejia is the founder of Our Dream Forward, a community platform created to make government easier to understand, connect people with local resources, and encourage greater civic engagement.
Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, and raised in Broward County, Florida, Edward developed a passion for public service and community engagement. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida International University, with a minor in International Relations, and later earned his Master of Public Administration from FIU.
From 2023 to 2026, Edward served in the congressional office of Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who represented Florida’s 20th Congressional District, working in district outreach and office operations to help connect residents with federal services, resources, and their government.
He believes informed and connected communities are stronger communities and that anything is possible when you set your mind to it.
Why Our Dream Forward?
”Anything is possible when you set your mind to it.”
Our Dream Forward was created from a simple belief: when people have access to information, resources, and opportunities, they are better equipped to move themselves and their communities forward.
